You are invited to join FPA of Wisconsin at our next Member Meeting on May 21. The afternoon event will offer four informative sessions. After all of that, FPA of Wisconsin will be hosting an evening Lake Country DockHounds baseball game and everyone is invited to attend!
The four sessions will cover different strategies to better guide a client as to the financial and insurance challenges created by a divorcing couple; strategies to specifically meet client’s legal; financial, lending, and insurance needs both during and post-divorce; why it might be time to add bonds back into your client’s portfolio; and what estate planners need to know about elder law. A more comprehensive description for each session is listed below.

Title: What to Do When a Client is on the Path to Divorce – Collaborative Learning Event
This Collaborative Learning Event will work through a modern divorce case study, discussing the various nuances and planning considerations. The attendee will learn different strategies to better guide the client(s) as to the financial and insurance challenges created by a divorcing couple.

Title: What to Do When a Client Gets Divorced – Panel Discussion
Family law attorney, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Insurance Specialist, Certified Divorce lender and estate planning attorney weigh in on best practices around the last session’s case study; including divorce processes and procedures, tax, insurance and estate planning thoughts.

3:40pm – Dan Conti – Voya Investment Management
Title: Back to Bonds!
You’ve made it through the Fed’s rate hikes, now what? While cash has been a good hiding place recently, it’s time to make a move. This presentation takes a look at the mechanics of bonds: how yields and prices drive total return, utilizing high yield bonds to soften the blow of rate changes, and putting bonds to work in portfolios during rate cuts from a risk reduction, yield seeking and diversification viewpoint.

Title: What Estate Planners Need to Know about Elder Law
This presentation will cover some key planning tips estate planners should be incorporating into estate planning documents to provide flexibility for any elder law planning needed in the future. This presentation will also dispel common misconceptions regarding Medicaid planning so you can more easily issue spot some areas of planning opportunities with your aging clients.
