Planning in Wisconsin, for Wisconsin
Financial Planners are sometimes concerned with information and issues that are very specific to the State of Wisconsin -- and we've brought together excellent presenters to talk about the latest information on two Wisconsin programs that may benefit your clients, and about current regulatory and legislative issues that affect your role as an advisor.
Presenters are:
Matt Stohr, Administrator, Retirement Division, WI Department of Employee Trust Funds
Chris Stack, Esq, Managing Consultant with Savingforcollege.com
Patrcia Struck, Administrator, Division of Securities, Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions
Matt Stohr will present an "Overview of the Wisconsin Retirement System and recet Law Changes" and will discuss the Wisconsin Retirement Ststem and its participants, including how to contact the system and which forms to use when working with a client who is a participant. He will also talk about recent law changes that affect the WRS.
In "2014 Wealth Management Strategies - Maximizing the Value of 529 Plans in Wisconsin" Chris Stack will discuss college planning and the Wisconsin “Tomorrow's Scholar®” program. He will also talk about the unique benefits provided to Wisconsin residents participating in the Wisconsin 529 plan by the legislation just signed by Governor Walker on April 8, 2014.
Finally, Patricia Struck, Administrator of the Securities Division of Wisconsin's Department of Financial Institutions, will join us for an update on developments in the law affecting financial planners and their clients in Wisconsin and nationally. Highlights of her "State Securities Law Update" will include crowdfunding, multistate exams, rulemaking and best practices. As Wisconsin's chief securities officer, Patty Struck has long been a favorite guest of our FPA Chapter.
