Education Funding: Moving Beyond Basic Strategies

FPA of Southern Wisconsin's Nex Gen Group will host a networking event on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Check-in and networking begins at 5:00 pm, and from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Steve Lamb from Advicent Solutions will present "Education Funding: Moving Beyond Basics."  We will meet at Advicent, 10700 Research Drive, Suite One, Milwaukee.

With the cost of college increasing at nearly double the rate of inflation, having a strategic, tax-efficient education savings plan is a necessary component to any financial plan. All too often, however, college planning is treated as a simple savings calculation, instead of a coordinated wealth planning strategy. In this session, we’ll discuss numerous overlooked elements to college financial planning. You’ll leave this session with an Action Plan to help you incorporate these strategies into your clients plans.

Steven Lamb is a Senior Partner Relations Consultant at Advicent Solutions. Advicent Solutions is now the leading provider of SaaS technology solutions for the financial services industry, servicing dozens of the world’s largest financial institutions. He began his career in the financial services industry in 2007, providing financial planning services a Strategic Wealth Management Group, LLC. After developing an expertise as a Certified College Planning Specialist, Steven transitioned to U.S. Bank in 2011. Steven earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics and Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

A NexGen member is an FPA meber aged 37 or younger. Our group focuses on early and mid-stage issues and career development.  Working with FPA national NexGen staff and members, we plan networking and other eventsfor NexGen members, students and other interested persons. FPA members of all ages are welcome to attend, although NexGen planners are especially encouraged to attend.
