The day will start off with a presentation by Steve Riley with over 30 years of investment industry experience by offering ideas and concepts on investment advisory best practices (tax-aware advisory, portfolio management and behavioral coaching). After seven years of outstanding market returns, 2016 may herald a new era or lower, less predictable returns. In this more challenging environment, those best practices most commonly appreciated by H-N-W investors, may be the better way to sustain more robust advisory business.
What do you do when you discover that one of your clients has a diminished mental capacity? If you don't know what steps to take to protect your client and your practice, both may be at risk. Robert Mauterstock will answer this question during our second presentation as you will learn the best practices to follow when one of your clients has a loss of memory. You will develop a protocol to use with every client you suspect may have diminished mental capacity. You will learn the skills to develop a relationship with the client's entire family and become their trusted adviser for future generations.
Remember it is not a question of if you will have to work with a client who has diminished mental capacity but when. Prepare yourself now to protect your client, yourself and your practice.
Steve Riley will close out the meeting by offering ideas and concepts on how to avoid the perils of the robo-advisory invasion through best practices (tax-aware advisory, portfolio management and behavioral coaching). These practices are often considered higher value high-net-worth (H-N-W) advisory techniques and therefore the better way to compete on a long-term basis against algorithmic or robo advisory. Attendees will gain a greater awareness of the potential benefits associated with the use of the best practices.
